The pike season has certainly kicked off with a bang at Centre Lake! Since the beginning of the season some cracking pike easily reaching double figures have been caught with their favourite bait being sprats! Many anglers have battled the wind and rain and their patients and determination has paid off! The carp in Centre haven’t seemed to slow down with some great fish coming out also around the double figure mark! We haven’t had many photos sent in of the pike so would be great to see them! The fish have slowed down slightly in Paddock Lake but anglers are still catching a good mixed bag when challenging the lake! The fish are feeding close to the banks so mind how heavy you step when walking to your peg! Snake Lake is still fishing great and the mild weather has kept the fish feeding well. As you may know the maintenance work went better than we had hoped and the grass seed is looking good, this lake will be looking brilliant by spring time! This lake has been a popular choice for matches lately and with the results which have been sent in we can see why! Copse Meadow Lake is still closed and will be until 2017 as we are doing further improvements! Guinea has been a little quiet but anglers are still having good days fishing, the Crucian Carp are still showing as well as the odd Tench. The Orf are lying low and proving to be a challenge! We are still offering a reward for the carp, so get down on the bank and give it a go! Lodge is beginning to show popular for a lot of anglers! With the Orf still feeding well in winter months anglers are trying to catch our impressive sized fish! The carp are still popping up here and there too, a fantastic common caught at 35lb just a few weeks ago! Don’t forget you can fish two rods on this lake! The carp have been moving in Bean Lake but as usual playing hard to get! The weed is still causing an issue for some anglers where as other anglers love the challenge! Pre baiting this lake could really pay off! Don’t forget you can fish two rods to double your chances!! As the winter months draw in the matches have slowed down although we have had some great matches across our waters over the last couple of months and some great results! We are always asking for more photos! If your catch is big or small we would love to see it so please send them in to charlottemcginnis@newdigatefarms.co.uk so we can add them to our website and facebook! We are now on faceboook!! Like our page and keep informed of any updates!
