Summer 2018
Wow its been a hot one! The heatwave conditions were not ideal, but our lakes have managed well with Centre Lake fishing great, carp up to 20lb+ have been hitting the banks. Some anglers catching 10 fish in a session! Small baits like boilies and pellets are proving to be a hit. Catfish are still feeding with the best being 57lb this season!! Plenty of fish in the 10lb-30lb range being caught on luncheon meat and boilies. Bream fishing has been exceptional, also with them coming in up to 6lb. The prospect for pike fishing is looking good.
Paddock lake has been fishing superbly well, with some impressive crucians and f1s showing themselves on the bank, as well as the occasional orfe.
Snake lake has fished so well this season it just keeps getting better and better with big catches of multiple species, with carp coming off the surface using bread.
Copse meadow has been steady with tench up to 8lb, anglers again catching multiple fish in a session. All baits have been successful when used over a bed of ground bait. Float methods seen to be working best.
Then there’s lodge lake which pulled out all the stops this season with a stunning Record 8lb 5oz Golden Orfe making it into the sun newspaper! Carp mid to late 30’s being caught, tench feeding well from the bottom.
Our regulars have been catching at bean lake. Learn the lake and it really will pay off! Pop up baits have caught the fish’s eye, once anglers have found where the fish are feeding.
You can catch tench all day long on Guinea! Such great fun for the kids too and matches had really great results throughout the summer months.
