Despite the extremely hot weather this July, our lakes have still been super busy! Centre has been fishing well for Carp and Catfish, up to 40lb. Robin red pellets catching both species with floaters taking both off the top. On Paddock lake we've seen mainly Crucians and Tench, with the occasional Orfe. Lunchoen meat has been the best for catching Tench wherease bread corn and maggots have been working well for Crucians. Snake has been fishing well all round with better Carp coming off the top to dog biscuit. All baits have been catching off the bottom.

Spring has sprung! Centre Lake is fishing well for Carp up to about 27lb, with small baits working best at the moment. Bream are also showing well while the Catfish are just starting - with fish up to 23lb. The show of the Cats is really making Centre Lake come alive now! Paddock lake has plenty of Crucian Carp and F.1's being caught, with the occasional Tench and Orfe. Currently on this lake, the Carp are slow to show but we don't think it will be long…. watch this space now the temperatures are on the up!

Summer 2018 Wow its been a hot one! The heatwave conditions were not ideal, but our lakes have managed well with Centre Lake fishing great, carp up to 20lb+ have been hitting the banks. Some anglers catching 10 fish in a session! Small baits like boilies and pellets are proving to be a hit. Catfish are still feeding with the best being 57lb this season!! Plenty of fish in the 10lb-30lb range being caught on luncheon meat and boilies. Bream fishing has been exceptional, also with them coming in up to 6lb. The prospect for pike fishing is looking good.

What a wet start to the year! The weather has certainly not been on the angler’s side although the brave few braving the weather have had a few good results. The weather is finally starting to feel like spring and the lakes are certainly changing with lots of movement! Lodge Lake is fishing very well this spring, carp reaching 37lb 5oz have been hitting the banks, as well as 7lb 1 Golden Orfe!! We’ve seen some super Tench too! Unfortunately, we have found fish tethered to the lily hoops with barbed hooks. DO NOT fish too close to the hoops.

What a year it has been so far, we started off in the spring with a filming crew on Lodge Lake for the series “The big fish off” which will air in the spring of 2018. The catfish season has been great fun with the challenge being getting the fish on the bank, but with perseverance we have seen some beauties!

Earlier this year, Lodge Lake was filmed for the new series of The Big Fish Off which will be aired in the Spring of 2018! Here is a picture of Tony Bellew and Ali Hamidi with a tench caught later that day!

As pike season comes to an end and they start to spawn, the catfish start to wake! The water has certainly taken a new lease of life with movement of fish! This pike season has been one of the most successful years, some great looking fish at some brilliant weights which has been really rewarding to see. We are looking forward to seeing them again next season!

Pike season is certainly in full swing with cracking double figure fish coming out consistently in Centre Lake. Carp and Bream are still feeding but they have quietened off a little in the last couple of weeks! Anglers have been avoiding Paddock Lake which is a fatal error as the fish in this lake are still feeding and with the big carp cruising around it would be silly not to give this lake a few hours out of your day!
